Trojanising open source softwares

Finding a crack for licensed softwares and trojanising them are usual
hackers' challenges. However the possibility of trojanisation is high
in open source software becoz of its nature of open code. For example
the famous mail server software was trojanised and it was a critical
flaw in all the unix based mailservers in this world. As we know
arround 80% of the mail servers are running on unix flavoured
operating systems. So eventhough the code is open we have to protect
the OS Softwares is being trojanised. Something has to be done.
