What is Open Source?

Well indian IT people must aware of the word "Open Source". Im not a Richard Stallman to define Open Source. But i think open source is a suitable technology for India like developing countries.Open Source is an Open knowledge sharing. Why we share our knowledge with others ? Its a proper way of improve your knowledge. How?. basically human thoughts is not same for all. Everyone have some sort of skills and knowledge. If you share your knowledge with other people, they also give you some more ways to solve the problem. It causes you to change your way of thinking. So it will automatically improve your knowledge multiple. In the information technology field you can't develope urself a complete product.Becoz many ways are there to solve the problem or develope the product. Its not enough ur knowledge only. While sharing your knowledge with other people, you can find the optimal and proper solution for that particular problem.This is neccessary for our people. If Microsoft shared their source code already, they never overwhelmed these security threats. Becoz a corporate can not hire all the security experts all around the world. If they shared their source code, that security experts may solve the particular problem of that Operating system volentary. I think so....
